Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson reportedly called off their engagement over the weekend. According to TMZ, the death of Grande’s ex Mac Miller played a pivotal role in the dissolution of the couple’s relationship.

Sources close to the pint-size pop star and Saturday Night Live actor reportedly said Grande was in an “incredibly dark place” following Miller’s suspected overdose last month. After several days of social media silence, Grande shared a simple photo of her late ex-boyfriend and followed up with an video of them together.

She was clearly blinded sided by the news.

“i can’t believe you’re not here anymore,” she captioned the video. “i really can’t wrap my head around it.”

Fans started to worry about Grande’s mental health when she posted several tweets alluding she was struggling.

In the wake of Miller’s death, Grande came to the conclusion she wasn’t in the right place to continue her relationship with Davidson.
